About the print

Description

Giant Cacti in the Saguaro National Park, named after the iconic saguaro cactus.

These giants can reach 40+ feet and live 150–200 years, but they grow slowly—taking 10 years to reach just 1 inch! Their first arm may not appear until 50–75 years old.

The oldest known saguaro cactus was called "Old Granddaddy", estimated to be around 200 years old before it died in the 1990s. It stood in Saguaro National Park and had over 50 arms, one of the most ever recorded on a saguaro.

While there may be other ancient saguaros still standing, most don’t live beyond 150–200 years due to harsh desert conditions.
