Advertising Poster by the renowned poster artist Leonetto Cappiello for Revel the Lyon-based umbrella company founded in 1851.
While the subject matter may seem slightly ordinary, the poster is one of Cappiello’s most ingenious and delightful designs.
It is as effective as it is simple, one sees “the umbrellas braving the storm like black ships’ sails or in this case of three people braving the weather, shielding themselves with black Revel umbrellas against wind and downpour, set against a yellow background.
